Named after first European settler who was caputured and adopted by Shawnee Indians from the age of 9 to 18. Jeremiah returned to his white <br />
family and at the age of 19 was in the pre-Revolutionary Battle of Point Pleant in 1774. Jeremiahs' son Soloman was born under a shelving rock after the family escaped an Indian attack. <br />
To access the Sutton Dam Trail Head use I-79 exit 62 (Sutton/Gassaway exit). Located at the North Abutmeent 3 miles up river from exit 62
